Portland's mayor is taking money from water and sewer taxes to fund college scholarships. Somehow I've become the go-to illustrator for anything involving gushing and spurting fluids! For Willamette Week.
I think about hot dogs 24 hours a day. Not only am I doing these hot dog of the week illustrations for Serious Eats, but working on some larger long-term projects, all hot dog related. This one turned out pretty great, maybe some prints coming soon??
Went with a looser style for last week's Hot Dog Of The Week illustration. The article was more of a recipe so I drew it basically the same as I would have in my notebooks back when I really worked in a kitchen, just without the grease stains.
Also cool to mix up the drawings with my photos.. check out the full article here.
From an old notebook... please excuse the spelling....
Last week's Hot Dog Of The Week for Serious Eats. I can never decide whether to post these here or drawingforfood.. anyway Toronto has some wild hot dog carts where they slice up the dogs in crazy patterns and serve them with weird stuff like corn relish and canned mushrooms.
No, I'm not giving up hot dogs, but I do agree with Foer calling out the overuse of terms such as "organic" and "natural" - basically just a way around the consumers guilt and back into their wallets.
5 course japanese dinners, mad hatter champagne parties, Portland indie rock heroes Quasi, basketball dudes and a dive bar all rolled into one. For Willamette Week.
